tBTC is a fully Bitcoin-backed ERC-20 token pegged to the price of Bitcoin. The company behind tTBC is the Threshold Network (merger between KEEP and NuCypher). It first launched in May 2020, the major players are Keep, Summa, and the Cross-Chain Group. It had a vulnerability that required it to pause deposits. tBTC relaunched in September 2020 and then again in November 30, 2022.
